Authentic Movement Groups, Retreats and Private Sessions
I facilitate in-person and online Authentic Movement sessions, inviting participants to explore their inner landscape of body, mind, spirit and relationships as witness and mover. I host an ongoing, monthly Authentic Movement group in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I also convene 3-4 days Authentic Movement retreats focused on Authentic Movement and Creativity.

Solo Authentic Movement Practice
“The body is the vessel in which the transformation process takes place.” - James Hillman.
Solo Authentic Movement Practice is a solo form of Authentic Movement that I created over the past 5+ years. The Practice is done alone/solo, yet contains the two central Authentic Movement elements of moving and witnessing. The solo practice nourishes and strengthens the mover’s “inner” or “moving” witness, and can be a springboard for creativity. About Kristine Maltrud
I’ve been practicing Authentic Movement since 1979, beginning with a group of dancers and actors in NYC. We valued the choreographic and theatrical creative content that surfaced in practicing Authentic Movement together.
I continue to make and perform dance/theater, often with other artists as collaborators. The mysteries of the creative process within the container of Authentic Movement continue to be a passion for me.
Janet Adler is my mentor and teacher. I ‘ve studied the Discipline of Authentic Movement with Janet for 12 years in California and Canada. I’m also a member of a peer group since 2006 - Circle of Hands - and we meet in retreat every year.
My discovery and exploration of the Solo Authentic Movement Practice form began while on a solo choreography retreat in 2017 with Janet in Canada. Over the past 5+ years, I have honed the Solo Practice form based on Janet’s teaching the Discipline of Authentic Movement. I practice this solo form daily, and am devoted to its unfurling and growth.
